Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has revealed that he hopes to return from injury by the middle of next month.
The Belgian defender has been sidelined with a groin problem that he picked up on August 19 during the Blues' 4-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.
"I'll be out for a little while but not too long," Kompany is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I may miss the internationals but I hope to be back after that.
"I've been here before and I'm going to work hard to get back as quickly as possible. There are worse things that can happen but the only disappointment is that the season began so positively for me and everything went really well during pre-season."
City return to league action on Saturday when they welcome Hull City to the Etihad Stadium.
