Swansea made a bright start to the match, and almost took a shock early lead when Wayne Routledge picked up a Jack Cork through-ball for a one-on-one opportunity with City keeper Joe Hart, only for the England international to come out on top.

Both goalkeepers were called into action moments later, as Wilfried Bony tested Lukasz Fabianski with a tame effort, before Hart tipped over a Gylfi Sigurdsson effort from a quick Routledge break.

Manuel Pellegrini's side broke the deadlock on 26 minutes through Bony, who found a way past Ashley Williams at a Jesus Navas corner to send a header past Fabianski.

Swansea almost found an immediate equaliser, as Andre Ayew found himself in space at a Sigurdsson free kick, only for the Ghana international to head over the crossbar.

After the break the visitors continued to cause City problems, as Hart kept out a Sigurdsson effort at the bottom corner, before the Iceland international was denied again from a curling free kick.

The Swans continued to dominate the game's chances, as Cork saw an effort deflect behind for a corner, while Sigurdsson had a goal disallowed after a foul on Hart from substitute Bafetimbi Gomis.

The visitors netted a deserved equaliser on 90 minutes through Gomis, who found the top corner of the goal to give caretaker manager Alan Curtis hope of a point from the Etihad Stadium.

City snatched victory just two minutes later when Yaya Toure had an effort on goal, only for the strike to deflect off Iheanacho on its way to beating Fabianski.
