Barcelona youngster Riqui Puig claims that Pep Guardiola's Manchester City would be his first choice if he ever left Camp Nou.

Barcelona starlet Riqui Puig has added fuel to the fire surrounding his future by talking up a potential move to Manchester City.

The 21-year-old is not believed to have enjoyed the best of relationships under Ronald Koeman, but Barca triggered an extension in his contract earlier this year, which has tied him down until 2023.

Nevertheless, Puig has claimed that Pep Guardiola's Man City would be his first choice if he ever left Barcelona, although the youngster also affirmed that he is content at Camp Nou for now.

When asked which club he would consider signing for if his time at Barca came to an end, Puig said: "Because of the style of play and because he has a coach who understands football like I do, Manchester City," in quotes attributed to Mundo Deportivo.

However, the Spaniard went on to add: "But at the moment I'm very well in Barcelona and at Barca, and I have no plans to leave."

Koeman's side are under pressure to offload more players in the coming weeks, though, as the club's new arrivals - including Sergio Aguero - supposedly cannot be registered until the Blaugrana reduce their wage bill.
