Southampton will compete against Manchester City for the chance to sign Groningen forward Albert Rusnak, according to reports.
The Slovakian attacking midfielder, who left the Etihad Stadium last summer, scored twice as his side beat PEC Zwolle 2-0 in the KNVB Beker final on Sunday.
According to the Daily Mail, Saints manager Ronald Koeman made a personal check on Rusnak during the game, while City are reportedly keen to bring the 20-year-old back to Manchester.
Rusnak, who joined City as a 16-year-old, qualifies as a homegrown player.
