Yaya Toure: 'Vincent Kompany can fix Manchester City away struggles'

Yaya Toure says that Vincent Kompany's return from injury will help Manchester City improve their poor away form.

Yaya Toure is certain that Manchester City's away form in the Premier League will improve once captain Vincent Kompany returns to the team.

The Belgian centre-back has been out for the past two months with a thigh injury, but is due to return imminently having trained throughout all of last week.

City have slumped to four defeats and just one win from their six away games so far this season, but Toure feels that Kompany's comeback will help them turn the corner.

"It's a big test for us because we need to change this run and try to be at the top," Toure told reporters. "These couple of weeks we have shown how strong we are at home, but in this Premier League you have to do the business away as well.

"We have to stay close to the big rivals. Arsenal and Chelsea are doing well and they win away as well as home, that's the difference.

"I hope the team can do well against West Brom and Southampton and I think it's going to be fine. Our captain Vincent Kompany is coming back and everything will settle down."

City travel to West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday.
