Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to receive funding to rebuild his squad in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to receive the financial backing required to rebuild his squad.

Klopp has guided the club to numerous honours since he was appointed Liverpool manager in October 2015, including a Premier League title.

The German has also won the Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Community Shield during his time as Liverpool boss.

After challenging for the quadruple last season, the busy schedule appears to have impacted their current campaign.

Liverpool have struggled to reach their usual high standards this term, as they currently sit in 10th place with 29 points after 20 Premier League matches.

Although they have two games in hand, the Reds are 12 points adrift of the top four, while they were knocked out in the fourth round of both the FA Cup and EFL Cup.

With several key players such as Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson all in their 30s, there has been a suggestion that the squad needs a refresh.

However, there has been doubt over whether Klopp would receive the funds to add to his squad or whether he would remain at Anfield to complete the rebuild.

The German's future at the club has come under question, and a recent report suggested he has had contact with Real Madrid over their managerial position.

However, according to The Times, Klopp wants to remain with the Reds, and he is expected to be backed financially in the summer, giving him the chance to improve his squad.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham is one of his main targets, although they face competition from the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Securing the services of the England international would also require a significant financial outlay, with Dortmund valuing him at €150m (£131m).

Matheus Nunes, who plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers and would cost in the region of €50m (£44m), is also believed to be another name on Klopp's wishlist.

Liverpool are also close to naming a successor for Dr Ian Graham, who is working his notice period until May as the club's head of research.

Graham established the club's data science department, and his research has helped the club sign the likes of Salah, Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson, while it also guided them to the appointment of Klopp.

On the pitch, meanwhile, Liverpool are currently preparing to face their local rivals Everton in Monday's Merseyside derby.
