Chelsea are reportedly confident of signing Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes.
The 19-year-old's current deal at Old Trafford is set to expire next month and talks over an extension have allegedly hit an impasse.
United are understood to have set next week as the deadline for a decision to be reached, but Gomes will be able to walk away from Manchester this summer if the two parties cannot agree fresh terms.
The England-Under 20 international is not likely to be short of offers from elsewhere, however, and according to The Mirror, Chelsea are at the head of the queue for Gomes's signature.
The report claims that Gomes has been offered a £30,000-a-week contract to stay at United, but the midfielder has rejected the offer as he seeks regular first-team football.
Gomes has turned out six times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side across all competitions this season, including two appearances in the Premier League prior to the coronavirus postponement.
