Leeds United are eyeing another swoop for Daniel James after failing to land the winger before he moved to Manchester United, according to a report.

Leeds United will reportedly try to swoop for Manchester United winger Daniel James in the January transfer window.

James came close to penning a deal with the Whites while he was a Swansea City player, but a move fell through at the final minute and the 23-year-old headed to Old Trafford instead.

However, the Wales international is struggling to force his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's lineup, starting just three Premier League games this term and being left out of the Red Devils' squad for their last two top-flight matches.

According to The Telegraph, Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa wants the club to try again for James in January, with the youngster under contract at Old Trafford until 2024.

The report adds that James will move further down the pecking order under Solskjaer once Amad Diallo arrives in England from Atalanta, assuming that the 18-year-old obtains a work permit.

James has scored five goals and assisted seven more in 52 appearances for Man United since his arrival, with the winger's solitary strike this season coming in last month's Champions League win over Istanbul Basaksehir.
