Napoli forward Victor Osimhen - linked with Arsenal and Manchester United - rejects suggestions that he could leave his Italian club this summer.

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has rejected suggestions that he could leave his Italian club this summer amid reports of interest from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.

Both Man United and Arsenal are still believed to be looking to improve their attack before the end of the transfer window, and Osimhen is thought to be admired by the Premier League pair.

Meanwhile, Barcelona and Real Madrid have also previously been credited with the Nigeria international, who is believed to be valued by his Italian outfit in excess of £80m.

However, Osimhen has insisted that he is "very happy" at Napoli and is not currently interested in seeking pastures new.

"I'm in Napoli. And I have great respect for my club,' he told Corriere dello Sport. "They are just rumours of the market. I'm fine here and I've never had such close relationships with everyone as at this moment.

"I spoke to the president, he is the one who decides, and he reassured me by explaining the club's plans. I am happy with what he told me and the purchases are of quality: words were followed by deeds. I am very happy to play with Napoli and we will see in the future."

Osimhen has also called Napoli head coach Luciano Spalletti, who has been in charge of the Blues since last May, "the ideal coach" for him.

"He is a top coach: every day he tries to motivate me and make me make the most of the potential I have," Osimhen added.

"I think he is the ideal coach for me at this stage: he is one of the reasons why I always give my best. I am happy when he is satisfied with my performance."

The 23-year-old was in strong form for Napoli during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 18 goals and registering six assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian has scored 28 goals and provided nine assists in 62 matches for Napoli since making the move from French giants Lille in September 2020.

Last month, Osimhen said that clubs in both England and Spain were keen on signing him during this summer's transfer window.

"I know there are many people that would like me in Spain or England, but I don't think it's the right time to talk about it now that I'm with the national team. I always go out on the pitch to do my best both with the national team and with my club," he told Calciomercato.

"I don't know my future, I know anything can happen, but now I just want to go on holiday with my family, clear my head and recharge my batteries. Then we'll take care of everything else."

Earlier this summer, Arsenal are believed to have failed with a €90m (£76m) offer for the attacker, with the Gunners since bringing in Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.
