Dorus de Vries backs Nottingham Forest strikers to find goalscoring touch

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dorus de Vries states that the club's strikers have the quality to score goals in the Championship.

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dorus de Vries has insisted that the club's strikers are good enough to score goals in the Championship on a regular basis.

Dougie Freedman's side have paid the price for their wastefulness in front of goal, as they sit two points outside the relegation zone having won just one of their last 10 league games.

De Vries has stated that he cannot understand why the club's frontmen cannot reproduce the clinical edge that they show in training when they take to the field in the league.

"I work with the players in training and, when they get an opportunity, they are unbelievable finishers," the Dutchman told Nottingham Post.

"They will knock them in all day on the training ground. It is different in matches, of course.

"But it is something that we will continue to work on every day. That is all you can do. Work hard in training and believe that, once the goals drop in, they will come in a bigger number for us."

Forest face Reading at the City Ground on Saturday.
