Chris Ramsey: "Rob Green not going anywhere"

Chris Ramsey claims that no formal bids have been made for goalkeeper Rob Green, despite the England international being strongly linked with a move away.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has vowed to keep hold of goalkeeper Rob Green beyond the end of the transfer window.

The England international has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road since the club's Premier League relegation.

However, Ramsey insists that no formal bids have yet been made for the experienced shot-stopper, who has retained the number one jersey following Alex McCarthy's sale to Crystal Palace.

"Nothing's landed on my desk, nothing concrete," Get West London quotes the QPR boss as saying. "It's obvious people will talk about Rob. If you look at last year he was world class.

"To have someone at his age to have the career he's had and still get picked for England, shows how good he is. Rob's not going anywhere. I wouldn't want to lose Rob.

"He's fought the battle with Alex and maintained the position here, which shows how much we think of him. I'm sure we'll bring in someone to take his place long-term. But if he keeps playing the way he is, he'll win that battle as well."

Southend's Dan Bentley is thought to be the Hoops' top target to provide back-up to Green in goal.
