Marcelo: 'No need to go crazy'

Real Madrid defender Marcelo insists that his team do not need to panic amid their patchy run of form in La Liga.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has insisted that his team do not need to panic amid their patchy run of form in La Liga.

Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Girona has left the Spanish champions eight points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona after 10 games of the 2017-18 campaign.

Los Blancos will look to bounce back when they visit Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and Marcelo has insisted that his team "will get better".

"We will get better, there's no need to go crazy," Marcelo told reporters. "Matches in La Liga are never easy, as anyone who has played in them knows – you can't just turn up and win, you need to fight for it.

"There are a number of games left and enough time for us to recover to get back on top – sometimes you struggle as we have done before, but then we always managed to find winners."

Tottenham held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw when the pair met at the Bernabeu last time out.
