Marc Bartra plays down injury fears

Spain defender Marc Bartra insists that he did not pick up a potentially long-term injury in his team's 2-0 win over England on Friday.

Spain defender Marc Bartra has played down suggestions that he picked up an injury during his team's 2-0 win over England on Friday.

The Barcelona centre-back looked uncomfortable when he departed the field in the 82nd minute of the international friendly.

However, Bartra, who also said that he was pleased with his own performance, has claimed that "it was just a scare".

"It was just a scare. I'm happy because I played a good game," he told Radio Marca. "It was a match worthy of the European Championships.

"Against that opponent the good thing is the control of the ball that we had, the seriousness and that we were able to win. Mario [Gaspar]'s goal was spectacular, it's a golazo."

Mario Gaspar and Santi Cazorla scored the goals for the European champions against Roy Hodgson's in-form England.
