Tottenham Hotspur sealed a fourth-placed Premier League finish and a spot in the Champions League with a 5-0 thumping of already-relegated Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday.
The Lilywhites started the day two points clear of North London rivals Arsenal and realistically only needed to avoid defeat against the Canaries to return to Europe's primary tournament.
Spurs had previously lost three of their five final-day clashes with already-relegated sides, but Dejan Kulusevski (2), Harry Kane and Son Heung-min (2) ensured that would not be the case again.
It only took Spurs 16 minutes to find the breakthrough, as the two January arrivals in Rodrigo Bentancur and Kulusevski combined for the latter to tap home before Kane capitalised on an error from Tim Krul to double his side's lead.
A delightful curling effort from Kulusevski in the second period all but killed any Arsenal hopes of clinching fourth, and Son proceeded to temporarily steer clear in the race for the Golden Boot.
With Mohamed Salah only fit to play as a substitute at Anfield, Son made it four for the Lilywhites before doubling his tally on the day with a sublime 25-yard effort for his 23rd Premier League goal of the season. However, Salah's close-range goal against Wolves ultimately saw the duo share the Golden Boot.
Arsenal did what they needed to do by easing past Everton 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium, but it was a fruitless endeavour as Spurs returned to the Champions League for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
