Joe Allen returns to the Stoke City lineup for this afternoon's visit of Bournemouth.

Joe Allen returns to the Stoke City lineup for this afternoon's visit of Bournemouth.

The Welshman takes his place in midfield after recovering from concussion suffered on international duty, representing one of three changes to the side that fell to a 7-2 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

Xherdan Shaqiri, out with a sprained ankle, is the man to be replaced by Allen, while Glen Johnson and Ryan Shawcross come in in favour of the injured Tom Edwards and benched Kevin Wimmer.

Bruno Martins Indi misses out due to a calf problem.

The visitors make three changes of their own from last Saturday's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Jordon Ibe, Lys Mousset and Benik Afobe come into the XI, with Steve Cook and Dan Gosling starting among the replacements and striker Joshua King missing out entirely.
