West Brom manager Roy Hodgson is happy with a point after his side's 2-2 draw with Sunderland.

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson was happy with a point against Sunderland, despite his side losing a two-goal lead at the Stadium of Light.

James Morrison and Shane Long put the visitors 2-0 ahead after only five minutes, but goals from Nicklas Bendtner and Ahmed Elmohamady rescued a point for the Black Cats.

"Well, we got the goals too early didn't we?," Hodgson told Sky Sports News. "We got the goals with 90 minutes left to play and at that stage we were playing quite well and obviously it was a tough time for Sunderland.

"But when they got that (Bendtner's) goal, the deflection that took it over Ben Foster, at 2-1 suddenly the fans were fantastic here, got behind their team again and then you're looking still at a long period of time where another goal could go in.

"So I think at the end we can't really complain too much. I think that we could, with a bit more composure, have seen this one out but one can't be too disappointed with 2-2."

The draw has moved the Baggies out of the bottom three and into 15th place, while Sunderland edge into 14th.
