Wigan manager Roberto Martinez insists that Wigan Athletic won't 'do a Wolves' and be relegated twice in a row.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that the club won't 'do a Wolves' and be relegated twice in succession.

The Latics' demise was confirmed with their loss at Arsenal on Tuesday, just three days after they won the FA Cup by overcoming Manchester City at Wembley.

Martinez could leave Wigan to move back into Premier League management but he is certain that the club will be very strong with or without him.

"I don't fear that Wigan will disappear without trace because I know that we have the foundations," Sky Sports News quotes the Spaniard as saying.

"I'm not saying that we are stronger than Wolves. I don't know what they are doing internally.

"Maybe you get so hurt at what happened that it is difficult to react."

Wigan's final game of the season is against Aston Villa. You can follow live text updates on the match and all other nine top-flight games on the last day here on Sports Mole from 3pm.
