The top three teams in League Two are all on 41 points after a dramatic Sunday afternoon that saw 26 goals scored in 11 matches.

Chesterfield remain top of the table despite dropping points at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

After Sam Hird had been shown a straight red card on 37 minutes, the 10-man Spireites took the lead early in the second half courtesy of a Marc Richards penalty. However, they were unable to hang on, as Abu Ogogo equalised for the Daggers just before the hour mark.

Scunthorpe United are now second on goal difference thanks to a 2-0 win at Oxford United, who fall to fifth. Deon Burton and Dave Syers were on target for the Iron in a game that saw both goalkeepers save penalties.

Burton Albion occupy the final automatic promotion place following a narrow home win over Newport County. Billy Kee scored the only goal of the game at the Pirelli Stadium, netting for the fifth time in seven matches.

Rochdale are just one point further back in fourth, having beaten Bristol Rovers 2-0 at Spotland, where Scott Hogan and Graham Cummins were on the scoresheet.

At the other end of the table, Northampton Town remain bottom of the pile after drawing 0-0 at Portsmouth in the day's only goalless game.

Torquay United are also in the relegation zone following a 3-1 home defeat to Devon rivals Exeter City.

Tom Nicholls, David Wheeler and Alan Gow all hit the net for the Grecians, while Karl Hawley scored a consolation goal for Torquay, having earlier failed to open the scoring with a first-half penalty.

Elsewhere, there were impressive 2-1 away wins for Hartlepool United and Mansfield Town at Morecambe and Cheltenham Town respectively.

AFC Wimbledon were denied a first victory in six matches as Reuben Reid struck an 88th-minute leveller to earn Plymouth Argyle a 1-1 draw, which was also the score between Accrington Stanley and Southend United.

Early efforts from Anton Forrester and Nathan Cameron sent Bury on their way to a 2-1 home win over York City, while Fleetwood Town's game at Wycombe Wanderers was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
