Scottish Cup roundup: East Kilbride shock Stenhousemuir to force replay

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's Scottish Cup Third Round action, with Dunfermline, Falkirk and Livingston all in action.

Lowland League side East Kilbride forced a replay against Stenhousemuir with a 2-2 draw in the third round of the Scottish Cup at Ochilview Park.

Bernard Coll put the visitors up against the League One side in the first half, before Sean Winter scored his side's second just before the 60th-minute mark.

Former Swansea City striker Jason Scotland replied with just under 20 minutes to be played, and the Warriors battled on to score an equalising goal through Stuart Malcolm in the final minute and avoid a real upset.

Meanwhile, Scottish Championship side Livingston beat hosts Peterhead 3-1 at the Balmoor Stadium thanks to a first-half goal from Gary Glen and a Jordan White brace, cancelling out a second-half injury-time penalty from Rory McAllister.

Falkirk dominated play against Fraserburgh, with a Lee Miller hat-trick and an Aaron Muirhead finish enough to overcome Mark Lawrence's equaliser and secure a 4-1 win.

Airdrieonians knocked fellow League One side Brechin City out of the competition with a 3-1 victory, as a Taylor Morgan brace and Bryan Prunty goal outweighed Andy Jackson's equaliser in first half action.

Albion Rovers suffered defeat to Greenock Morton, who went through after Denny Johnstone and Joe Mckee scored for a 2-0 victory.

Dunfermline Athletic are through to the fourth round following a 1-0 away win over Ayr United, having Andrew Geggan on hand to score a first-half winner for the Pars.

Elgin City lost out to Raith Rovers, who went through as 2-1 winners with a Ryan McCord penalty and second-half Grant Anderson finish bettering a 90th minute consolation from Jordan Halsman.

Goals from Luciano Nequecaur, Mark McGuigan and Ryan Thomson allowed Stranraer to push Buckie Thistle aside in a 3-1 win, despite the threat of a comeback through Paul Napier's finish.

Cowdenbeath and Arbroath battled out a 1-1 draw, forcing the second of six replays after Craig Johnston equalised for the home side following Mark Whatley's opener.

Formartine United and Cove Rangers also ended all square, with Scott Barbour putting the home side ahead before Daryl Nicol equalised for the visiting side to leave the game at 1-1.

Queen's Park and Forfar Athletic was another to finish 1-1, as Danny Denholm rescued his side from loss by levelling the game after Chris Duggan had given the home side a first-half advantage.

The clash between Huntly and Lothian Thistle provided the final 1-1 draw of the day. David Booth put the Highland Football League side up in the first half, with Scott Gormley equalising 20 minutes before the final whistle.

Elsewhere, the score card between Inverurie Loco Works and Annan Athletic was by far the busiest of the day with a 4-4 draw.

Ties between Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic, Stirling Albion and Cumbernauld United, and Wick Academy and Linlithgow Rose were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Full results (half-time scores in brackets): Airdrieonians 3-1 Brechin City (2-1), Albion Rovers 0-2 Greenock Morton (0-1), Ayr United 0-1 Dunfermline Athletic (0-1), Cowdenbeath 1-1 Arbroath (0-0), Dumbarton P-P Alloa Athletic, Elgin City 1-2 Raith Rovers (0-1), Falkirk 4-1 Fraserburgh (1-0), Formartine United 1-1 Cove Rangers (1-0), Huntly 1-1 Lothian Thistle (1-0), Inverurie Loco Works 4-4 Annan Athletic (1-1), Peterhead 1-3 Livingston (0-2), Queen's Park 1-1 Forfar Athletic (1-0), Stenhousemuir 2-2 East Kilbride (0-1), Stranraer 3-1 Buckie Thistle (1-0)
