Ajax trial ex-Tottenham Hotspur youngster

Ajax take ex-Tottenham Hotspur youth-team player Ronnie Hawkins on trial.

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur youngster Ronnie Hawkins has been handed a trial with Eredivisie giants Ajax.

The 18-year-old left White Hart Lane in the summer, but turned out for Ajax's Under-21 team in a game watched by first-team boss Frank de Boer last night.

Hawkins trained with Norwich City following his release by Spurs and could well earn a contract with the Amsterdam outfit.

Brentford midfielder Harry Forrester featured for Ajax's youth team in July of last year.
