Arsene Wenger claims that his side are all but out of the Champions League after their 4-0 first-leg defeat at AC Milan in the last 16 of the competition.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that his side are all but out of the Champions League after they were beaten 4-0 in the first leg of their last-16 tie against AC Milan.

Goals from Kevin-Prince Boateng, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho all condemned the Gunners to a record European defeat at the San Siro.

"Let's be realistic, we don't play in dream world," said Wenger. "We have to show a completely different performance and you never know. But, you have to say, realistically, we are out of the competition.

"It was of those nights you never forget. It is our worst night in Europe, we were punished and deservedly so."

Arsenal host Milan in the second leg on Tuesday, March 6.
