Arsene Wenger is reasonably satisfied with Arsenal's display in Thursday night's Europa League quarter-final first-leg win over CSKA Moscow at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger has declared himself satisfied with Arsenal's 4-1 win over CSKA Moscow in Thursday night's Europa League quarter-final first leg at the Emirates Stadium.

Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey scored a first-half brace apiece, while Aleksandr Golovin struck a neat free kick on 15 minutes which had briefly levelled proceedings.

The Gunners were unable to add to their tally in the second half but they will head to the Russian capital for the second leg next Thursday with a healthy lead.

"I think we have done half of a job," Wenger told BT Sport. "There was a good pace in the first half, the two teams gave everything which is why is was such a spectacular first half.

"Second half the aim was not to concede, we did that and also had loads of opportunities that we didn't take.

"You know how football is, you want to make the difference as big as possible, but at 1-1 we would have taken 4-1."

The result means that Arsenal have won five matches in a row in all competitions for the first time since a run of six victories ending in May 2017.
