How Arsenal could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur meet on Sunday for the first North London derby of the season.

The Gunners sit third, having won two of their opening three games, but lost to Liverpool last time out and will be hoping to bounce back.

The corresponding fixture last season ended 4-2, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira all getting on the scoresheet for Arsenal.

Gunners boss Unai Emery does not have many injury problems to contend with, aside from a few long-term absentees working their way back to fitness.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's showdown.

Bernd Leno is certain to start between the sticks, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is the only available option at right-back.

Emery is likely to persist with a central defensive partnership of Sokratis and David Luiz, despite the latter's error-strewn display against Liverpool, leaving Calum Chambers on the bench despite his impressive performance against Newcastle United.

Nacho Monreal's move to Real Sociedad means that Sead Kolasinac, who has yet to start a game this season and has been found wanting at times defensively, is now the only available option at left-back until new signing Tierney recovers from injury.

The Gunners boss has a wealth of options to choose from in midfield - Matteo Guendouzi, Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock have all enjoyed impressive starts to the season.

Ceballos was named man of the match in the 2-1 win against Burnley and it is likely he will continue, whilst Guendouzi has an extra season of experience over Willock, meaning the Englishman may miss out in favour of a more defensive option in Torreira.

Granit Xhaka could also come into the fold, but the Swiss did not perform particularly well against Liverpool and is not as astute defensively as his Uruguayan counterpart.

In attack, Gunners fans may finally get to see an attacking trident of Aubameyang, Lacazette and new signing Nicolas Pepe. The Frenchman was left out against Liverpool but could return to the fray, while Pepe impressed on his full debut despite the result. The three seem to have struck up a friendship off the field and will hope that can translate to a strong understanding on it.
