Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has indicated that he will do business during the January transfer window, but admits that his immediate concern is avoiding more injuries to his first-team squad.
Wenger has seen a number of key players suffer serious injuries, with Francois Coquelin and Santi Cazorla sustaining long-term issues and attacker Alexis Sanchez being sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Despite the setbacks, Arsenal qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday night, but ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa, Wenger has acknowledged that the fitness of his players is a major worry.
The Frenchman told reporters: "We will be out there and seeing what we can do, but we have the whole of December to go and we are in a strong position in the Premier League. We are short and it is important that we don't lose any more players."
Arsenal will return to the top of the Premier League table with three points at Villa Park, which takes place a day before leaders Leicester City take on Chelsea.
