Arsene Wenger miffed by Arsenal collapse

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits that he finds it hard to pinpoint where his side went wrong in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Swansea City.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is at a loss to explain Arsenal's collapse in this evening's 2-1 defeat at Swansea City.

The Gunners looked on course for victory after Alexis Sanchez had fired the visitors ahead midway through the second half at the Liberty Stadium.

However, Gylfi Sigurdsson levelled up with a free kick on 75 minutes, before Bafetimbi Gomis came off the bench to nod home the winner three minutes later.

"It is difficult to explain how we lost the lead," Wenger, whose side lost a three-goal lead against Anderlecht on Tuesday, told BBC Sport.

"We were in control but they did not give up and we lost some decisive challenges in the middle of the park and we paid for that. That is where we lost the battle."

Consequently, Wenger's side drop to sixth in the Premier League table as Swansea move fifth.
