Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud insists that he would welcome the arrival of a new striker at the club.

Olivier Giroud has admitted that it is important for Arsenal to show the club's supporters that they want to improve next season.

The Gunners have been linked with several big money transfers this summer, including a move for Liverpool forward Luis Suarez, and Giroud is impressed with his club's intent to add players to their squad.

The 26-year-old striker told The Mirror: "I think we need maybe two or three more players. Yes, that's what we need - to show ambition.

"The club has to show the fans that we want it. Me and my teammates, we need it as well.

"It's all about the team. It will be a really positive thing if we have a new striker."

The Frenchman has scored six goals during the club's first three pre-season friendlies.
