John Hartson: 'Arsenal fans living in past'

Former Arsenal striker John Hartson believes that the club's supporters are "living in the past".

Former Arsenal striker John Hartson has claimed that the club's fans are "living in the past".

The Gunners were booed off the pitch at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as they lost 2-0 to Swansea City.

Arsene Wenger's side are now 15 points off the top of the Premier League table and Hartson believes that supporters should not expect any silverware any time soon.

"Arsenal fans are living in the past," he told talkSPORT. "They don't have the quality players they used to have.

"The fans moan and groan about current results but they just don't have the quality in that side.

"Why do Arsenal fans seriously think they can be title contenders? Arsene Wenger himself has said a top-four finish is acceptable - that's where Arsenal are at the moment."

Arsenal return to Champions League action on Tuesday when they travel to Greece to face Olympiakos.
