Alexis Sanchez teased by Arsenal teammates over failed Manchester City move

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom reveals that Alexis Sanchez has been teased by his teammates over his failed move to Manchester City.

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has revealed that he and some of his teammates have teased Alexis Sanchez over his failed deadline-day move to Manchester City.

The North-West club were believed to be keen on a late £75m deal for the 28-year-old, who was reportedly waiting to undergo a medical while on international duty with Chile.

In the end a transfer was not agreed, although the forward is still likely to move on next summer when his contract at the Emirates expires.

Asked about the players' reaction to Sanchez's failed move, Akpom told the Daily Star: "We do banter about it to be fair, but at the end of the day, he's still at Arsenal. Everyone is happy, the fans are happy and he's happy.

"I think with a player like Sanchez he just blocks it out because all he wants to do is play football. He's so focused on football, he blocks out a lot of negativity and transfer rumours."

Recent reports have claimed that Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to hand over a £9m bonus to Sanchez in the hope of convincing the Chilean to move to Parc des Princes.
