Arsenal's Arsene Wenger out to avenge last season's 6-0 defeat to Chelsea

Arsene Wenger believes that his Arsenal team are capable of avenging last season's 6-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge when the two sides meet on Sunday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that he is "confident" that his side can avenge last season's humiliating 6-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners will take on Jose Mourinho's side away on Sunday with summer signings Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez in their ranks.

"Chelsea was a horrendous day last season," Wenger told reporters. "We have an opportunity to put that right and I'm confident we can take it.

"Football is not made of history, football is made of performance and it is the next game that counts."

Cesc Fabregas will face former club Arsenal for the first time this weekend since moving from Barcelona to Chelsea in the summer.
