Arsene Wenger: 'Premier League title is most important'

Arsene Wenger believes that it is more important for Arsenal to win the Premier League than any other trophy.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that it is more important for the team to win the Premier League than any other trophy.

The Gunners can move back to the top of the table tonight if they beat title rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite Arsenal not lifting a trophy since 2005, Wenger believes that the only piece of silverware that counts is the league.

"It's not without winning a trophy, it's without winning the Premier League," the Frenchman told the club's official website. "If you win the League Cup it doesn't change anything.

"It's the Premier League that is the most important thing and we haven't won it for nine years."

Arsenal head into their match against Chelsea on the back of last weekend's 6-3 defeat at Manchester City.
