Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez is a January target for Arsenal, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a January approach for Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez.

The Colombia international returned to the Bernabeu over the summer following two seasons on loan with Bayern Munich and has made nine appearances for the Spanish giants this term.

There remain question marks surrounding the South American's long-term future at Madrid, though, as his contract will expire at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

According to El Desmarque, Arsenal want to sign the 28-year-old during the January transfer window and hope to entice Los Blancos into a mid-season sale.

James, who has one goal and one assist to his name this term, is currently on the sidelines with a knee injury and faces a battle to return before the winter break in Spain.

The attacker has contributed 37 goals in 120 outings for Madrid in all competitions.
