Liverpool to swoop for Theo Walcott in January?

Liverpool are linked with an £8m January swoop for Arsenal's Theo Walcott.

Liverpool have been linked with a bid for Arsenal's Theo Walcott when the transfer window reopens in January.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is prepared to pay the England forward £100,000 per week and play him in his favoured central attacking position, according to The Sun.

An Anfield source allegedly told the newspaper: "Theo Walcott and Liverpool would be a perfect fit.

"It's no secret we are looking for a striker to play with Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini. Theo ticks all the right boxes. He is young, he is fast and he has great skills."

Walcott, who has been given a Christmas deadline to agree a new contract at Arsenal, could be available for the cut price of £8m as his existing deal runs down.

The Gunners are believed to have offered him £75,000 a week to remain at the Emirates Stadium, significantly less than Liverpool's rumoured figure.
