Nacho Monreal "very happy" at Arsenal

Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal says that he is in contact with the club over extending his contract.

Nacho Monreal has said that he is "very happy" playing for Arsenal and wants to extend his contract with the club.

The 29-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Gunners this season and he was part of the side that thrashed Aston Villa in last weekend's FA Cup final.

"I have one more year on my contract and I would like to stay at Arsenal," he told Sport360. "I am very lucky to play for Arsenal, and am very happy to play for Arsenal.

"I am in contact with the club. My main intention is to stay at Arsenal, I hope I can extend my contract."

Monreal, who has won 16 caps for Spain, joined Arsenal from Malaga in January 2013.
