Real Sociedad make £6m offer for Joel Campbell?

Real Sociedad reportedly make an offer of £6m for Arsenal forward Joel Campbell as the Costa Rican moves a step closer to leaving the club.

Real Sociedad have reportedly emerged as favourites to clinch the signing of Arsenal forward Joel Campbell.

The Costa Rican joined the Gunners in the summer of 2011, but work permit issues forced him to spend time abroad before he was eventually given the green light to play in the Premier League last season.

However, Campbell found it difficult to earn regular minutes under Arsene Wenger and he finished the campaign on loan at Villarreal.

According to The Mirror, the 23-year-old has made it clear that he wants to leave Arsenal and Sociedad are leading the race for his signature after offering £6m for his services.

Campbell, who has not travelled with the squad for the pre-season tour of Asia, made 10 competitive appearances last season for Arsene Wenger's side without scoring a goal.
