Arsenal's Arsene Wenger coy on re-signing free agent Mathieu Flamini

Arsene Wenger suggests that Arsenal could re-sign midfielder Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer following his release from AC Milan.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that French midfielder Mathieu Flamini could return to the Emirates on a free transfer.

Reports emerged yesterday claiming that the 29-year-old is poised to sign a short-term deal with the club after beginning training with them a fortnight ago.

"He is just here to work on his fitness and he does that very well," Wenger said in a press conference. "I don't say there's no chance and I don't say there is a chance [of signing him]."

Flamini, who was released by AC Milan at the end of last season, made 102 Premier League appearances for Arsenal between 2004 and 2008.
