Emile Heskey backs Neil Lennon to take over Aston Villa

Emile Heskey believes that Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon should be considered by Aston Villa following the sacking of Paul Lambert.

Emile Heskey believes that Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon would be a good replacement for Paul Lambert at Aston Villa.

The Premier League club are hunting for a new manager after sacking the Scotsman last night following a 10-game winless run.

Lennon has impressed at Bolton ever since arriving in the Championship in October following a four-year spell with Scottish giants Celtic.

"I definitely think he has got what it takes," Heskey told talkSPORT. "People forget what he did at Celtic, he had a phenomenal time at Celtic as manger, beating Barcelona in the Champions League. He is tailor-made for a big club."

Former Tottenham Hotspur coach Tim Sherwood and USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann have been linked to the vacancy at Villa Park.
