Aston Villa have completed the signing of Egyptian youngster Omar Khedr from Zed FC.
The West Midlands outfit have been active during the summer transfer window, adding the likes of Pau Torres, Youri Tielemans and Moussa Diaby to their squad.
On the back of long-term injuries sustained by Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia, manager Unai Emery will now need to replace those players.
Nevertheless, it appears that the Villa hierarchy want to place a certain focus on building for the future with Khedr being acquired from Egyptian football.
With Khedr only being 17 years of age, he will not officially join Villa until the start of July next year.

Khedr, a winger, has signed for Villa as part of a link-up between the two clubs that was agreed in 2022.
Villa say that they have fended off stiff competition to be able to secure a deal for the prospect, who will now look to break into the first team at his current club.
The Egypt Under-17 international has already been shown around Villa's facilities and met the current senior squad ahead of returning to his homeland.
