Ernesto Valverde: 'We didn't deserve three points'

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valderde has no complaints following his side's 0-0 draw with Elche on Tuesday.

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valderde had no complaints following his side's goalless draw with Elche on Tuesday evening.

A frustrating 90 minutes brought few chances for either side, but Bilbao remain in pole position to finish fourth in La Liga this season.

"The result is fair. It was difficult to create chances today," he told reporters at a press conference.

"We need to learn how to play these games. Elche are very organised and know how to play their style.

"Our intention was to go out and win but it was difficult against the wind and our opponent pressed high. But we never stopped fighting."

Bilbao are nine points ahead of fifth-placed Sevilla.
