Celta Vigo come from behind to claim Athletic Bilbao point

Celta Vigo come from a goal down to rescue a 1-1 draw away at Athletic Bilbao and maintain their unbeaten away record in La Liga.

Celta Vigo maintained their unbeaten away record in La Liga as they came from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao this evening.

Artiz Aduriz gave the hosts a sixth-minute lead from the spot after Sergio Gomez was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area.

Markel Susaeta then went close before Aduriz was denied a second goal by a fine Sergio Alvarez save low to his right as Athletic dominated the first half.

Aduriz continued to threaten after the break and the forward thought that he had doubled the home side's lead in the 46th minute, but the assistant referee raised his flag.

The 33-year-old then shaved the post with another effort, and his wastefulness proved costly as Nolito levelled with a poacher's finish on 73 minutes to hand Celta a share of the spoils.
