Diego Simeone to make changes

Diego Simeone says that he will tinker with his Atletico Madrid team in their final two fixtures in the group stage of the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has said that he will make changes to his team for their final two Champions League matches, with qualification to the knockout stages secured.

Los Colchoneros triumphed 4-0 over Austria Vienna to make it four wins out of four in Europe this season and confirm them as winners of Group G.

"I'm satisfied because the team played a great match," Simeone told reporters. "Now we will play against two great teams in Zenit St Petersburg and Porto with an element of calm, because we don't have to fight to get through to the next round.

"In our next group games we can give playing time to other players because they deserve it. The team is growing, chances keep coming and that gives more opportunities for our forwards to score.

"We are taking things match by match in the Spanish Liga and we have the same philosophy in the UEFA Champions League, knowing our chances."

Atleti are currently second in La Liga.
