Saul Niguez ban extended to three matches

Saul Niguez receives a three-match suspension for his conduct after seeing red in Rayo Vallecano's 1-0 over Almeria at the weekend.

Saul Niguez has been handed a three-match suspension after seeing red in Rayo Vallecano's 1-0 win over Almeria at the weekend.

The 18-year-old, who is on loan at Rayo from Atletico Madrid, had been due to serve a one-match suspension following his second yellow card in the La Liga clash.

However, according to the Spanish Football Federation, the ban has been extended due to Saul arguing 'in a loud voice... for about a minute' that it was only his first booking of the afternoon.

The highly-rated youngster will now miss the Spanish capital outfit's next three matches in the league.
