Report: Atletico Madrid join Jordan Veretout race

A report claims that Atletico Madrid are willing to meet the £4m release clause of Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout, who has previously been linked with Arsenal.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly joined the race for sought-after Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout.

The 21-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, has scored six times for Nantes in Ligue 1 this season.

The youngster's form has brought a host of admiring glances and Atletico will make a firm offer early next month, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Veretout is contracted to his current club until 2017, but it is understood that the midfielder's release clause stands at just £4m – a price that Atletico are willing to pay.

Atletico could lose Mario Suarez to Serie A in the winter transfer window, and Veretout would fill that void.
