Romulo: 'Juventus can beat Barcelona'

On-loan Juventus defender Romulo insists that the Serie A champions can beat Barcelona in the Champions League final.

On-loan Juventus defender Romulo is confident that the Serie A side can overcome Barcelona in Saturday's Champions League final.

The 28-year-old, who is on loan at Juve from Hellas Verona, has been part of a team that has won both Serie A and the Coppa Italia this season.

The Serie A side will have the chance to make it a treble in the European Cup final in Berlin.

"It was wonderful to win Serie A and the Coppa Italia, but it's even better to play the final of the Champions League 12 years later," Romulo told FootMercato.

"We are sure everything will go well. The squad is motivated, confident and concentrated. We are aware of how important this game is, we must reach it in the best possible shape – well rested, well trained and well fed to give our best.

"We can't know what will happen. Many consider Barcelona to be the favourites, but anything is possible. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win. The fans in Turin have faith and so do we."

Romulo has been used sparingly by Juve this season and is not part of their 18-man squad for the final.
