Spain coach Vicente del Bosque claims that Pedro is a contender to play at left-back.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he would be willing to play Barcelona's Pedro at left-back.

Alvaro Arbeloa and Jordi Alba are both on one yellow card apiece, meaning that one more would see them earn a suspension.

Despite playing in an attacking midfield role for Barcelona, Del Bosque has insisted that Pedro is a genuine option for a wide defensive berth.

"We would play with three centre-backs or we would send a central defender to play on the left, or use Pedro," Del Bosque told Cadena SER. "We have plenty of solutions which offer guarantees."

Pedro is yet to start a match for the defending champions at Euro 2012.
