Juventus are told that they must pay £67m to land Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt in this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Juventus have reportedly been told that they must pay £67m to land Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt this summer.

The Old Lady are seen as the strong favourites to sign the central defender, who helped Ajax win a league and cup double during the 2018-19 campaign.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have all also been credited with an interest in the Netherlands international ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Barca and PSG were both thought to have led the race at separate times, although it has recently been reported that United are the only club to have made an official bid to Ajax.

According to Sky in Italy, contrary to reports, Juve are yet to agree a deal for the teenager, with I Lancieri wanting £67m for a player who also impressed in the Champions League last season.

De Ligt scored seven times and contributed four assists in 55 appearances for his Dutch club last season.
