Florian Thauvin squandered his opportunity after 10 minutes, before Kevin Berigaud tried his luck for Evian but in vain.
Thauvin drew out a good save from Laquait on the half-hour mark and minutes later Sylvain Marcha headed wide from a corner.
Beauvue was unlucky not to find himself on the scoresheet just before the break when he received Anthony Modeste's through-ball and shot on goal, as his attempt came off the post.
Modeste made another attempt after the break, as Bastia went on to dominate the second half but without finding the Evian goal.
