Thomas Muller: 'Thiago Alcantara injury is a bitter blow'

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller admits that losing midfielder Thiago Alcantara to injury at this stage of the season is a "bitter" blow.

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has admitted that losing midfielder Thiago Alcantara to injury at this stage of the season is a "bitter" blow.

Thiago is likely to be out for at least a month after suffering knee ligament damage during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Hoffenheim.

"It's very bitter and comes at a catastrophic time, just before the important games," Muller told reporters.

Alcantara will miss both legs of his side's Champions League quarter-final with Manchester United, as well as the German Cup semi against Kaiserslautern.
