Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes wants his side to keep improving after an impressive win over Werder Bremen leaves them 18 points clear at the top of the league.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has insisted that there is more to come from his side after they extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

The Bavarian giants beat Werder Bremen 6-1 to extend their lead to 18 points, with second-place Borussia Dortmund playing tomorrow.

The 67-year-old was keen for Bayern to continue their momentum and admitted that Bremen being reduced to 10 men helped his team.

"The team needed something to find their rhythm and with the two goals, we had a cushion," Heynckes told reporters.

"Then came the red card and, against ten men, we were able to pass the ball around easily.

"The team did well and scored good goals. We wanted to keep our momentum and not be swayed by any premature praise. We want to play even better than before and be more successful."

Heynckes will be leaving Bayern at the end of the season, with the club having agreed a deal for Pep Guardiola to take over in the summer.
