Mario Gomez starts for Bayern Munich against Werder Bremen at home in the Bundesliga this afternoon.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has decided to start Mario Gomez for his side's Bundesliga clash against Werder Bremen this afternoon.

The Germany international will be the lone striker in the Bavarian giants' lineup at the Allianz Arena.

Aaron Hunt has overcome a flu virus to start for Bremen, but Sokratis Papastathopoulos has succumbed to the same problem.
