Ahead of Bayern Munich's Bundesliga clash with Fortuna Dusseldorf, Jupp Heynckes insists that he does not care about creating records.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has said that he does not care about creating records.

The Bavarian giants can become the first team in the history of the Bundesliga to win their opening eight games of the season should they get the better of Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday afternoon.

"Records mean nothing to me," he said on Friday. "They are for the archive, for the stats.

"The players are in the mood and very motivated. I think my team will carry on where they left off against Hoffenheim. I think we face a major challenge."

Bayern are currently at the top of the Bundesliga table with 21 points from seven matches, five points clear of second-placed Eintracht Frankfurt.
